Then we think you'll love these destinations - all wonderful in their own right, but also known for being the filming locations of four great detective programmes.
Love a bit of Sherlock Homes? Then a trip to London and the well-known Baker Street is just what the Dr (Watson) ordered. Groups can join walking tours which will take you past some of the sites that inspired Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, as well as many of the locations that were featured in the televsion and film versions of these great detective stories!
A fan of the TV detective series Broadchurch? Then a visit to West Bay should definitely be on your list! West Bay is located near Bridport in Dorset and is a picturesque location with a small harbour and large stretches of shingle beaches. The destination has recently become known as the setting for the hit TV drama, Broadchurch. As well as a great destination to explore at leisure, groups can join a Broadchurch tour which takes in sights such as the police station, newsagents, death cliff and more!
Loved Inspector Morse? A visit to Oxford is a great way to recapture memories of this fabulous drama which was last filmed in 2000. Groups can join a guided walking tour of Oxford, which was the setting for both the books and TV series, to go behind the scenes, and discover some of the locations of the city included within the TV series.
Midsomer Murders has been filmed in a variety of locations throughout Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire - all definitely worth a visit, but one of our favourite settings is Mapledurham Estate. The Estate consists of an Elizabethan mansion with a working watermill and turbine and church. Groups can arrange a guided tour of the house, watermill and turbine, and perhaps enjoy a cream tea in the Old Manor tea room or the Coach House afterwards.
