Five Great Tips to Consider When Booking Your Next Coach Hire!

We're all looking to save a penny or two and I'm sure booking your coach travel is no exception. That's why we've put together 5 tips that could help you save when booking your next coach hire.

Off peak you say?

You've probably already clocked that hiring a coach during a weekend in July is going to be more expensive than a mid-week in January, but all that aside being flexible with your travel dates can really make a difference to the cost of your coach hire! Of course, in some cases that's more simpler said than done (we wouldn't want you missing an important meeting and we're pretty sure the dates of the Chelsea Flower Show won't change), but if you are looking for ways to save money then added flexibility could save you ££'s. Simply ask our sales team if there is a cheaper alternative date and they will see what they can do!

Is that the time?

If you're not looking to go far, could your group leave after 10am and be back before 3pm, still giving you plenty of time at your destination? If your answer is yes, then you could see a significant reduction in your coach hire quotation. This is because vehicles are often used for contract work during weekday mornings between 7am and 9am then not needed again until 4pm and 6pm. So, if you choose to travel within these times you'll avoid paying a full day's hire and will only pay for the bit in-between.

Pick your pick-up point.

As the organiser, arranging a pickup location for your group can be a difficult task; you want to make it convenient for everyone, but this can lead can lead to various pickup points which add to the cost of your hire! Why not consider meeting at a central location? Not only will this reduce the cost of your coach hire, it will also reduce your journey time, which means you get longer at your destination (or a lie in), and you also have the added advantage of your whole group joining the coach at the same time- saving you from endless head counts and repeating important announcements.

Not sure where's central? -  Our knowledgeable sales team do this every day, give them a call and they will be happy to provide you with some recommendations.

It's good to say goodbye!

When booking your coach hire, consider whether you will need the coach to stay with you for the day. Of course, if you are heading across country or your group has luggage then it might be best to keep the coach and your driver nearby, but if you are just heading down the road will you really need them? If the answer's no, then you could save more on your hire! This is because the driver and coach will be able to continue to be used to do other jobs during the day so you'll only have to pay for the driver and vehicle while they are in use. We'll then be back to pick you up at your dedicated pickup point and time - you'll hardly even notice we've been gone!
